Get MeghaOS running in a few minutes — pick your edition and go.

MeghaOS comes in three editions. Choose the one that matches how you want to run it, then follow the steps below.

Desktop Environment

Add MeghaOS to an existing Linux install.

Operating System

Install the full MeghaOS Linux system.

macOS Preview App

Try MeghaOS on a Mac.

1. Install

Install the MeghaOS Desktop Environment package on a modern Linux distribution, then select MeghaOS as your session at login. The desktop and its AI assistant start together. See Installation for requirements.

2. Add your AI provider

MeghaOS needs an AI model to power the assistant. On first run, open Settings and choose a provider and model — a hosted provider with an API key, or a local model. See Configuration for every supported provider.

Note

You can change the model at any time in Settings; it takes effect immediately, no restart needed.

3. Ask it something

Type a request into the chat. Try:

  • pomodoro timer → a self-managing Pomodoro widget
  • weather in Tokyo → a live weather card
  • show me how a volcano works → an animated diagram
  • search for AI news and email me a summary → a multi-step workflow
